  1. Thanks. Yeah, looking at it in the light today, the 24-YO pinstripe tape that has been damaged hows the true color under it, so odds are it's gonna have to be a whole take respray. Maybe I'll do that and let the tank run naked awhile. After all, it *does* have a nice chrome cap...
  2. What ever came about? I just F'ed up my tank paint in two small spots when it tipped over while I was working on the petcock. I want to have the spots repaired and the clearcoat redone if possible. I know I can get new stickers for about $40, but would prefer not to have to and give that money and some to a painter who can get it right.
  3. That was exactly what I was saying. I'm in no way trying to take away responsibility, or make anyone have to wear a helmet. I'm actually saying let ALL parties be responsible for the amount of damage caused in the incident. If you get hurt more because of something you weren't doing to protect yourself, it shouldn't be the other person's fault in any case, motorcycle rider or driver. SeanK
  4. How about if you decide not to wear a cover and you get in an accident with another vehicle your personal damages against the other vehicle are reduced? Logic behind this? Same as an airbag or seatbelt. If you're not taking precautions it's not the other person's fault; you made the decision. This is already holding up in the courts for drivers. And the insurance companies can make this type of change to your policy without it getting voted on anyway.
  5. That was the only way I could figure it. It'll be nice when (if) they ever get the whole intersection redone. I'd cheer your buddy up by bringing him some 2008 model year catalogs!
  6. Great that he had his helmet on! And lucky he still has knees with a head on. What were the directions and turns? That's nearly a three way turn unless one of them was coming out of Doctor's West. I'm having a hard time figuring out how he was in her windshield unless it was him east bound Broad and her making a left. And why did they take him to Grant if he was right outside Doctor's?

    Vintage Days

By buddy on his HD and I on my '83 Honda 550 Nighthawk will be riding up Saturday morning, and I'll probably be hitting the vendor and swap meet pretty hard. If you're interested in meeting up while up there, PM me and I'll respond with my mobile number. Might stick a "make me an offer" on the windshield and see if I can double my money on the bike...so I can pick up a bigger ride to fix up! SeanK

    My day to crash

Take it slow, get the body parts checked out, and then you can plan how you want to change up your ride with the new parts! A good rider friend always tells me that when your mind says "Just one more time," it's time to stop before that time. Trust your intuition, not your adrenaline.

It was really cool meeting a bunch of you all t'nite. There were some amazing rides there. Your line of cycles made me feel a bit impotent; I'll really have to think about if I'm parking by you next time! TTYL, SeanK
  10. Hattrix I've seen it, sharp!. Was going to ride toady except for the morning rain. Might go out tonight after the gym, about 8pm
  11. Nice ride there, robhawk!
  12. and it's only getting bigger, as they're planning on building phase II soon...
  13. I work at "that big ass building near Dublin Rd & Emerald Pkwy", maybe we can meet up for a ride soon.
  14. Yeah, some would even say "WEEESSSSSIIIDDDEEE"! I'm in Galloway, a bit south of Hilliard. Just started riding again after not touching a bike in about 20 years. Picked up a classic: 1983 Honda CB550SC Nighthawk from the first owner in excellent condition. The one year wonder bike! I did the general maintenance on it, and have been riding it all I can. I'm looking to trade up soon if I can though, I'm at about the ride's limits. I'm planning on going to the AMA Vintage Days at Mid-Ohio in about two weeks on Saturday, might stay over to Sunday. Anyone else going? SeanK 1983 Honda CB550SC Nighthawk "The Freshman"
