  1. Anyone have any suggestions on a few performance upgrades for the 07 gixxer. I've basically put my bike away for the year cause my job has me on the road all the fucking time. So I figure I might as well start upgrading it for next year. It may see some track time (gonna get my buddies 03 zx636 for the track) but mostly nice twisty roads. I already have an aftermarket exhaust, stock was the first thing to go. I have my own ideas for the rest but I'm open to other suggestions. Anyone do a chain and sprocket conversion or ignition module?

I know a guy who's selling an '03 636 that was wadded up at The Dragon... Same guy?

  2. As well as the PC or instead? I'd guess you mean all 3

All three... And really that's if you are really serious about performance... Unless you're hitting the track, I don't see much use for putting that sort of money into that little HP. Of course, different bikes react differently to these mods... some will see significant gains because they have been choked out by EPA regulations... Others will gain only a few HP... I'd do lotsa research before dumping a grand (or more) into a bike...

  3. I was being sarcastic and stating that it goes faster than a few tenths like the guy I was quoting stated... 600s today are fast. They get to their top speed quick and can be a handful in the wrong hands.

Too many street guys "think" they can master a 600 and go up to liter bikes because they feel they "need" the extra power and such.

They're obviously wrong... We see so many liter bikes at our track days that outside the back straight, are over 10 seconds slower than an average rider on a 600...

Point is that the whole topic here is kinda opinionated by guys who I guarantee aren't as good with their machines as they feel they are...

Start small (SV, 500, etc.), move up GRADUALLY and you'll find that you'll be better off than the guy who buys a 600 and has no business doing so...

This whole "You'll be too bored" is a response from guys who are most likely unable to tap into 50% of their own bike's ability...

    Truth.

Dude dont waste your time and money on a go for the six its all on you how hard you ride the bike, and you will see what i mean once you hit the throttle you see what i mean i started with a 600 and 3 months later i got a 750 now a got a zx10 . so save some money and get the 600

Mad retard force is strong with this one.

  4. The same problem as with drug education... Everything's exaggerated to the point in which kids figure out something's BS, then all credibility is lost. I stopped listening when I was a kid because I recognized that a lot of what I was tought was totally crap.

  5. dont go to 555. it sucks been there. lots of gravel and blind corners

It wasn't that bad the last time I was on it... of course that was 1.5 months ago... Blind corners haven't changed, but the gravel was gone... I just like 377 is all around a better road.

I could go earlier maybe 10:30 or 11...would have to check to see if that works for the others though. Right now its just me and exSRAaron and maybe a couple guys I know who aren't on the board.

    Anybody else want to come?

    Coolio... Let me know.

I'm probby up for it, but not 100% yet. Depends on weather & what I get into Saturday nite and whether or not it requires sleeping off...

If I go, I'm sure to be the one in the back play'n the roll of "anchor," at least until I get some sliders!

    Every ride needs an anchor!

  6. 204E to 158S to 256E to 664S... 664 goes down into Hocking Hills and is sick. Take 664 all the way to 56E, slow your pace when you see signs on 56 that say "Bump" (they're tearing up the road and it can get hairy), then take 374 back to 664... 664/56/374 is a nice little loop with some great twisties...

And if you ever go to 555, just skip it and hit 377... It's a much better road... Clean.

  7. heh, No, wow I managed to leave out a whole paragraph?

I wanted to keep that stuff if I was to part it out, but if you want to buy the whole bike your more than welcome to, saves me some hassel, but I'd like to get 2000 out of it, and as it is I don't think it's worth that, then again I'm a cheap SOB so who knows.

Could be interested. I am tossing around the idea of a track-only bike...

  8. Not really sure, was looking to get about 2-2500 out of parting it out, also wanted to keep the forks, spring and wheels for the SV since they all fit right over.

The bike really isn't THAT bad, needs a set of clip-ons, upper fairing stay, and new plastic and she'd be pretty much ready to go. the bitch is the odometer says the bike has 25k miles on it. It's WAY the hell off, guy i bought it off of had a 62 tooth sprocket on it since the day he bought it so he could "do wheelies and be cool" (yeah thats a direct quote from him when I went to save the bike, I feel I more adopted an abused bike than I did buy it because it's exactly what I wanted). Going 65 down the freeway the speedo read over 120mph so it's way the hell off.

I put a used engine in it when I bought it, Mr. Cool rode a wheelie so long he sucked the sump dry and spit out a con rod bearing. The motor I replaced it with had just over 8k miles on it when I put it in this spring, and I've put 6300 miles on it this year, just put new plugs in it to SOB runs strong.

If you want I'll wheel it outside and get some pics of it up for ya, wouldn't take but a few minutes.

If you're keeping all that stuff, I'm not interested... Thanks though!

  9. Yeah been doing that, having all this free time not working all week and shit. I'm 99% sure the SV1000 will be my next bike, either silver or blue. Can't wait to heal up so I can take one for a spin, They definitely seem like what I'm looking for, plus there sexy as hell, SV1000s with the upper fairing removed and an 8" headlight put in it's place, very nice.

I'm just going to part the Gixxer out. it's not worth fixing, the frame is perfect, motor is great shape with pretty low miles, there's alot I can sell off of it and make more money than if i fixed the damn thing and sold it like that i'd be lucky to break even with what it'd take to fix it. I've got this nasty bad habit of not being able to sell something unless it's perfect.

What would you take for it as-is?

  10. I'd like to go hunting... It's just always so early and so damn cold... I do like shooting... and I think I'd enjoy the primal stalking too... Not unlike my current girlfriend... the one I've never met.

I do it for fun. I'm not saying it's right or it's wrong. It's just something I enjoy doing. I eat some of the meat...not all of it...I like to make deer jerky. I also hunt for the "trophy" part of it...which IS NOT poaching. Poaching is killing something illegally. I only hunt deer now...but I have hunted other things.

As far as hunting/killing making me feel like a man....that's pretty ridiculous. I feel like a man anytime I get a chance to bake cookies and vacuum...I don't need hunting. Oh, shaving my face, at times, makes me feel pretty manly as well.

My penis makes me feel manly... regardless of how depressing and small it is.

I prefer non-lethal hunting. Just shoot a deer in the ass with a couple of paintballs .

  11. Dude got his shit yanked!!! They put his CBR in a mini-van no less!!! Yeah, if they're gonna take it, then its gone. I'm more worried about some douche knocking it over than someone taking it.

    I agree...

I don't park my bike far enough away from me to matter... I do very little destination based riding and don't do any bike nights.

  12. Sorry thats what i have insurance for. if you want the bike take it. just don't bring it back to me in good condition.

I agree... I think disc locks and alarms are silly on bikes anyway... When's the last time you heard someone's car alarm going off and didn't even bother to look? Like 500 times in the past year for me.

Disc locks... You think someone's going to piss around for 5 minutes trying to hotwire your bike and ride away with it? Nope, the guy and his 3 buddies are going to grab the thing, toss it in the back of a truck, and get the fluck out of there...

Bottom line... if someone wants your bike, they will get it.

  13. Well when you are 220 it ain't gonna hurt for a few days.....

Now to get down to under 160 then fill back in with some muscle.

That's not the way to do it... Starving yourself slows your metabolism, so when you do finally eat your body doesn't burn it off... it just stores it...

You want to lose weight, change your diet and eat more. Eat small every couple hours thoughout the day. That speeds your metabolism.

    Google it.
