    street music?

This year would probably be the best ever for a 250 on the track as long as you don't get canceled. Would it be fun in a group of 20, no. in a group of 8, not as bad.

I think it auto corrected street hooning

  2. Tires purchased. I’ll be at PIRC for the endurance race and sprints this weekend - getting tires mounted and spectating. Not racing. Maybe helping my friends do endurance.

I doubled down and bought parts to fix my leaking MC, and then also won an auction for a 2007 R6 master.  The latter is much better, but may ship more slowly...

should have fresh rubber on the bike Monday, and the master cylinder should be on the bike Tuesday. Cross your fingers.

  3. Fiancé is disappointed that we can’t street music SV.  Wants a street bike.

my plan is for her to learn, and get her on the track with whatever street steed we end up with.

thinking EX or CBR 250 would be best for her to learn on, and enough for us to hoon around town, but i would like to get her on the track at some point, and i worry about a slow newb in beginner group with a 250, surrounded by 100+ horsepower machines...

with that acknowledged, I’m looking at street legal SV’s, which would obviously pull both of us around a lot better, but would be big for her to learn on...  maybe buy the 250 now, buy an Sv this winter, and sell the 250 in the spring?

but the original question remains: is a 250 too small for peace of mind at a beginner trackday?

  4. I intended to buy a chinese grom or amazon street bike, and just beat the shot out of it at mini tracks.

just looking to have cheap fun, not race competitively.

after struggling to find anything in stock, i bought a homely 2002 SV650 race bike.

i haven’t even cranked it yet. Needs a battery, and all the fluids flushed first. The plan is to ride it and race it at Nelson, PIRC and Mid-Ohio as much as possible. The racing just opens up the schedule. I am quick enough to stay out of the leaders’ way.  If i find myself anywhere near the front, then i reevaluate 😂

  5. The cities are going to be in trouble. The suburbs will remain insulated.

and if shit does come into the suburbs, we’ll see how many ‘Ken commandos’ can actually shoot. There are a lot of firearms in wealthy neighborhoods...  my ex-wife’s neighbor has a PALLET of .223 in his basement. I miss Joe. He was good people.

my current neighborhood is still somewhat of an unknown. Tom next door is a super nice guy, and seems to have a good tool set. We have borrowed things from each other that suggest a degree of self-sufficiency. Not sure if he has firearms in the house.

what concerns me a bit is the number of scorned ex-wives on my street. My fiancé was one of them. She has 2-3 friends whose divorces are still pending. I am nice enough to clean the carb on their mower, use the chain saw to take down small trees for them, and generally keep them from paying for shit their ex-husbands should have been taking care of ...but i can’t be protecting multiple houses from a mob.

  6. Buying an SV with a GSXR front end. I can only assume that means GSXR brake calipers, since the forks are different.

    “needs MC.”

i have services brakes, but never messed with upgrading them.  Should i just buy a used eBay master cylinder from a stock GSXR, or would a few more dollars get me something significantly better?

i will race this bike, but i am in no danger of winning, and the front end already makes it a “superbike” machine (i think).  So what’s a solid and reasonably priced option?

  7. This is one reason racing is arguably safer.  I remember being out for practice on my F2 with a guy on a Honda Hawk who was just murdering me on the brakes.

Once i had a good brake marker for my races, i backed off and just stayed behind him on the straights.

I also think racing lends itself to being near people of similar pace and ability. Until you’re getting lapped, the fast guys are way ahead of you.

In combined expert/novice CSS grids with 2-wave starts, i would literally get lapped by the top 2 experts in their final turn of the race and take the checkers right behind them.  That happened like 5 times in 2 race weekends. I felt like i could have gotten my full race distance if it hadn’t been a 2 wave start.

  8. Well, my stimulus check is going primarily to medical bills, but i can’t really complain much about my insurance coverage so far.

Had my first ocrevus infusion yesterday. That will be the major expense. Anxious to see how much that will cost, and whether copay assistance will be necessary.

the treatment gives me a mild (99) fever, and a sore throat. Both seem to have subsided as of this morning.

Watch for my gofundme when this $65k drug costs me $20k out of pocket!

haha just moving from concord township to pepper pike so not a big move.   my 2 little kiddos are almost old/smart enough where the quality of education will really start to matter and I'm too much of a cheap POS to send them to private (well... not really, but I have my reasons).  hopefully everyone in pepper pike is still alive when this thing is over....  apparently, it is one of the highest concentrations of COVID infections in Cuyahoga county.  fuuuunnnn

I think that has more to do with the wealthy suburbs having more tests administered, and nothing to do with a higher infection rate.

Looking at the map, broadview hts also had a pretty high number.

I’m not worried, and i am all but moved into brecksville.

  10. I moved myself and my daughter in with my GF and her kids.  This was always MY plan, but my mother pitched a fit over the fact that we can’t control who GF’s ex exposes his kids to while they’re with him.

It wasn’t an invalid point, and we went a week apart before confirming (with ex’s mistress’s former in-laws) that they’re limiting who any of the kids interact with. Anyway, my circle of “exposure contacts” is larger than i had anticipated, but it’s closed.  I encounter more people while grocery shopping than anywhere else.

The living together arrangement is going great though. Knock on wood.

Sorry to hear that man...that seemed to come on very quickly. Is that normal?

I work for the federal government, so i am not overly concerned with them discriminating based on a medical diagnosis. Frankly, i should be a feather in their cap.

In hindsight, this didn’t come on quickly at all, and i have been having symptoms for months, if not years.

The most severe symptoms hit me over the course of a few days, but i have been experiencing weakness in my legs all summer, and just chalking it up to being out of running shape.

I thibk i mentioned my “bell’s palsy” episode in September 2018 as well. That was likely my first relapse. My balance was off for months after that, and the nerves in my face went dead for like 2-4 weeks.

Its hard to say when it all started. My legs just feel stiff and heavy all the time now. Still trying to work out daily-ish. My eyes are better, thankfully. I can drive again. I’d ride a motorcycle without hesitation.
