Heat isnt my main concer because most of the heat will be dispersed through the titanium the kit is made out of. The originator of the thread on 1kRR has run it for some time now including tracks days with no problem of melting of even yellowing Heat tape: http://www.designengineering.com/products.asp?m=sp&pid=30

I picked up a used Akra Evo system from 1000rr.net and its on its way to my home this week. I understand cutting the can changes the sound but the Akra is one of the quieter systems for the 1k's and all other that cut theirs say it sounds a lot better and the tailight hasnt yellowed or gotten stained from the exhaust. This is the actual system on the race bike ( different colors because its two different season): After surfing 1kRR.net I came across a thread about people shortening their Akra systems. The first one listed is cut 3in: Before AFTER This system is cut 2.25in ( didnt post a before shot)

this thread makes me want to NOT sell my gear as a package deal or at all.

Death wobble is usually related with bad scrub radius and loose components in the driveline. Its also more a front exle problem when it starts to "wrap" and bounce like a rear axle.

melted plug or bad COP, Lightning did that all the time when it wasnt happy. ALso what plugs are you running? fuel system? tune?

Lightning/ Cobra guys have done something like this before but thy dont add the steel wool. Thats not a bad idea adding the steel wool making the oil air mix have to go through a very fine surface. Honestly, I deleted my PCV system on the Lightning and i had to smell oil fumes all day and got tired of it so i opted for the expensive way out but it was essentially the same basic setup.

Look at Iron Ponys clearance section, the Teknic boots they have left are some decent boots for a cheap price.

This is very strange that they are going after him especially after all the elapsed time.
