No...for one, the 3000gt had a nicer interior.
GTR = 3,152.6 lb
VR4 = 3100-3800 (depending on year, and the spyder was a heavy bitch)
The VR4 was not FWD bias. It could vary anywhere from 20/80 to 60/40 depending on conditions. As for parts availability...see next response.

I owned 2 3000GT's, 1 SL and 1 VR4. The VR4 was solid and reliable as all hell. Only thing that went wrong was that I had a 93 that still had the 18 spline output shaft, so the transfer case took a dump. After upgrading to the 24 spline, I beat the shit out of it and it took it. Oh, and the damn automatic antenna gears were stripped so it would make an annoying grinding sound when you start/shut off the car.
