Ruger 10/22 reliable and cheap. ammo is plentiful and cheap also. If you are set on a rifle now and with your skill level I would go for the ruger. I think any other semi auto rifle is going to be over kill and you will just be wasting money on ammo with it.
Really someone better buy it so I don't have to im still trying to talk myself outta it. I will vouch for cbus I have bought a gun from him in the past and he is great to work with and like he said he don't sell junk. Everything he has is amazing condition.
Also one more thing about the nra, some ranges require you to be a member if you want to become a member of the range. I foind this out after I applied for our local one.
