I need to build a small retaining wall around my patio. It's about 30 feet long and 3 feet tall. Used to be railroad ties and this summer I bought new railroad ties and tore out the old ones and replaced them but it looks like crap and it needs to be taller to keep dirt from coming out from under my concrete patio. Got some estimates for landscaping Bubbys to come in and replace it with those locked together landscaping blocks but at $3000 it's just not doable. Does anyone know anything about the steel retaining walls or the Ibeam and 4 x 4 set ups? Here are some pictures I pulled off the inter-webs that were ideas I already had in my head. The rock baskets are called Gabion. It looks easy and inexpensive but I'm not sure I like the way it looks. The steel beams and 4x4's might be the ticket but I'm not sure it's any cheaper than the pavers. Anyone with experience have any input?

I just put on new drag links and tie rod ends on my F250 beater. It's a 4 x 4 with the twin Ibeam Front end which is known for eating tires. Without going into details, I have an ass load of money going out this month and I need to find some cheap tires for this thing. I tried to used the route but apparently since these are known for eating tires used ones in the stock size dont exist. So, who has some real world experience with cheap E rated tires? I'm about to pull the trigger on some Mastercraft courser LSR but I know nothing about them, except they're $132/ea mounted balanced and out the door.

But it's one a dem fuk in Porsche Harleys. used to to regularly outrun them on my old Vmax.

This is a long shot but I'm looking for some reasonably priced used tires for my beater truck. Before you go off about how cheap you think I am, please consider that this thing sees maybe 2k miles a year and new tires will dry rot before they are half used. And even cheap 10ply tires are $600 installed. I just installed new tie rods and steering linkages and also need an alignment, so I'm trying to save money with some used shoes Could also get get away with a set of 4 LT265/75R16 must have at least half tread and not cupped or worn unevenly.
