  1. WINDOWS LOL

    NEVER ENDING SECURITY VULNERABILITIES LOL

You cant be that blind to think nothing happens to macs. Wait you cant see huge speedbumps and the signsfor them, so it all makes sense now.

  2. 1. Decide what you are. Are you a long-term investor, day trader, value investor, growth minded? How long do you want to keep a stock you purchase for? A week, month, year, day, doesn't matter? Decide what exactly you want to do to make money in the market, read about and learn from someone else who is good at doing it the way you want to, then develop a specific plan around how you will do it. For example, I can tell that I am a different kind of investor than Tractor. We both may do equally well in our overall portfolios but if I tried to do what he does I wouldn't be as successful as him and vice versa.

    2. Follow your own rules. Once you decide what you are and what criteria you will look for to buy something follow those rules. Almost every time I have broken one of the rules I made for myself I have lost money.

    3. Invest in things and companies that you know at least a little. Don't know sh*t about banks? Don't invest in bank stocks. Don't know shit about frozen concentrated orange juice? Don't invest in it. Etc......

    4. Learn about the theory of sunk costs. Easier to conceptualize and see how it makes sense than to actually make a smart move dumping a loser. If a position I took has taken a loss, I either buy more or sell everything, there is no other logical choice.

If I had to describe myself as an investor I would say that I am a short to medium term value investor. I like to buy my stocks on sale and generally like to sell within a year of the purchase. When Tractor says that stocks are more predictable in the short term based on technical data, something important is to understand that for him that is true. For me, I just don't get it when it comes to the short term and I would be terrible at guessing it, for me, time is my friend. I say this to reiterate, go with your strengths and what you find you are good at. Not all of us have the same strengths and weaknesses.

    Good info here thanks!

Some stocks will be long term, some wil be on the shorter terms. None will be day trading or anything like that.

  3. So yes, flame away, it is a sign warning of a speed bump ahead. I guess I missed it the other night? I keep my eyes on the ROAD. A sign simply isn't enough warning, especially with how poorly visible these bumps are.

So let me guess, the sign is in INVISIBLE ink and you cant see it. Its not the typical yellow/orange sign......

  4. Sometimes you open an account some brokers will match your deposite. Let say you go to Scottrade open an account with $25k deposited. Scottrade will give you another $25k in your account so you now have $50k to trade. It's fine and dandy if your trade is making money but if your trade is loosing money Scottrade will force you to sell your stock to cover.

Ahh yea forget that, not playing with other peoples money, just mine.

  5. Well im a little late to the game, bought my first stocks ever yesterday/today. Any one have any tips for a newbie looking to not lose his ass?

Bought some HAL yesterday, and some BOA today. Looking to purchase some RAD and KO shortly.

  6. Okay, so now input dumb rich soccer mom hitting the "invisible speed bump" who doesn't know how to drive, panics and drives up over some kid walking along the road at night (when he shouldn't be out either) and kills him. "OMFG!!! What a fucking tragedy, remove all speed bumps every where." Is what they'll say then, but some poor bastards tearing up their cars on surprise speed bumps is cool? Yeah becomes a double edge sword very quickly, they should at least be marked.

True, but there are a 1000 scenerios that could go back and forth about this. All in all do the flippen speed limit, quit cutting through random neighborhoods, and party on garth.

    :lolguy:

  7. Haha It was basically rhetorical.

    It's fucking science, I believe.

From the sounds of the OP's post, these speed bumps were dangerous even at the posted speed limit. I'm familiar with these kinda of speed bumps and they are bs. Wait until some jackass goes speeding through one of those corners, jumps a bump they didn't see, loses control and careens into one of the fucking cars or even one of the houses there. All because Paul wants to be an asshole. :p

:fuckyeah: I call it how i see it good buddy.

Sorry but you cant hit one of these and go all out of control and wreck if you were going the speed limit.

Hell i used to hit these things in my ranger tapped out didnt faze me

  8. Jason I'll let you trade your car for my truck for a week. I bet money you'll be so happy to get it back. I love them open 'merican feels in one, but it's like hanging with the loud funny guy at the bar; Fun occasionally but you don't let him move in with you.

ok comparing your 01 ram standard cab gasser to what hes looking for is like comparing my grand marquis to a new Bentley. No comparison at all.

Take angry bmw on his offer, or hell go to a dealer and ask them to test drive it for a day and do this a few times in a week to see if it is something you want.

  9.

So im doing maybe 10 miles over the speed limit? (25) what

There you have it folks, maybe try not be a tool bag and speed through a neighborhood.

the issue isn't whether the speedbumps should or shouldn't be there - the issue is really were they visible and properly marked (which they were probably not).

Having visible marked speed bumps makes them effective at serving their purpose as being a deterrent to speeding. People see it, they slow down so as not to damage anything, and everybody wins.

Having unmarked "surprise" speed bumps decreases their efficiency, potentially causes damage to the property of a person who has a right to use the road, and generally helps no one. Plus it is most likely illegal

There is no argument you can make that justifies an "invisible" speed bump at night. none. good day sir.

I disagree, with this, cause all there going to do is speed, then slow down for the bump, then speed right up.

I like the all blacked out, so you fuck up your ride for speeding through a neighbood. Would be nice to see a few flats, or busted up suspension by it.

Bet somebody in the neighborhood got some sweet footage of the jump.

God i hope so, they are probably getting a kick out of all the good footage.
