  1. I'm up for a jaunt into the ohio countryside!
  2. welcome, there are several of the members that live in canal winchester, anytime you wanna ride drop a line. Live Free, Ride hard, keep the rubber side down......
  3. I got a discount for taking the state class, also got another bump down for taking the advanced class too, thru grange ins. I haven't had any problems with them , and they keep lowering my rates. Of course I'm an old fart on a cruiser.... but hell I can't complain about reduced rates. Also, if you aren't sure what kind of bike to get go to a dealership and sit on all that strike your fancy, find one you are comfortable holding up at a stop, that is how I got started. But, I will tell you I still have made several modifications to make my ride more comfortable and well, MINE! So, always go into the deal with the approach that you will want to change things to make it yours, so negotiate the price so you can still afford to customize down the road and not be over your personal budget.
  4. so does that mean there will or won't be a rain date for 2 weeks out?
  5. dude FINALLY another suzuki rider!!!! Hell yeah you count man!!! would love to tear up some pavement with ya sometime, drop me a line and we'll do it up VL800 style!!!
  6. welcome and anytime ya wanna ride just drop me or vrod dave a line
  7. my bike is fueled with malted hops and barley resins!!! lol, these guys may give the cruisers a bit of crap from time to time but I'd rather ride with any of 'em as opposed to some self indulgent a-hole with 50 grand wrapped up in his harley.
  8. send a pm to vrod dave he was doing a clutch on a buddy's busa last night, seemed pretty easy, and I don't think it was too expensive. But, he would know more. I just watched and wrote down stuff. I'm better at working on houses. LOL
  9. absofreakinlutley! I like to just get out n ride. I could care less if you got a fully dressed harley or a 71 ' honda dream with suzuki lights n rusty chrome... as long as you like the wind in your face and 2 wheels between you n the pavement you are alright with me.
  10. Thanks satan, I've been through too much to let a disagreement ruin my day. If we all agreed on everything it would get to be a pretty boring place. Besides, if it weren't for the sport bikers there wouldn't be some cool accessories for my metric crusier.... like lights and some of the performance stuff.... MUCH love to the sportbiker!! :choppersmiley:
  11. dang y'all I didn't think this would start world war 3! Sheesh, All I wanted to do was express my feelings on what some dingle berry in chicago wrote.... wow what a response!
  12. I'd like a silver one if you have any left. 5469 beresford st. canal winchester 43110
  13. will you be coming past canal winchester??? if so me and v-roddave will hook up with ya if ya want to.
  14. yeah I like that I don't see a ton of bikes like mine, but I'd like to think I didn't get a bike that no one else likes......ah well I set trends not follow them
  15. ok, I give up , first of all the rally doesn't only go past arlington national, it goes throughout DC and the purpose is to raise awareness of the situations involving our vets, the money collected during the rally is given to the vets families, and while I admit that some (very few actually) just go to ride, the majority of riders are there because they either are or have a family member who is a vet. AND SOME EVEN RIDE SPORT BIKES! Now, while I freely admit that there are assholes among the riders the MAJORITY of the riders have nothing but the ULTIMATE respect for VETERANS and their families. I am one of those. Just as I respect YOUR Views. I just don't think it's fair to judge a whole group based on the actions of a few jackasses. Just like you all don't like to be judged solely on the fact that you ride a sport bike, because everyone has seen the videos of the jackass things that some do on them, nor would I assume you all were total morons because you ride sport bikes. So, therefore, I am agreeing that we disagree.
  16. Again I say you guys are missing the point, it's not what you do, it's how you do it. If you really wanna help the vets, volunteer at the VA. Actually get your hands dirty before you go slamming others for the way they honor the Vets. And I can say this because I do volunteer at the VA and I ride in the Thunder Rally and I ride A CRUISER! So I suggest you all put your money where your mouth is....... MAN UP and DO SOMETHING that HELPS!!!! Otherwise shut the hell up!
  17. I'll keep that in mind the next time some jack assed sportbike comes flying up behind me at 100 plus then decides to go around me and cut me off, so as I said there are butt-nuggets on both sides , and just because I like the roar of my cruiser doesn't make me a bad or reckless person... so I say to you sir... if ya can't stand the noise, go somewhere else!
  18. I've got a suzuki cruiser, am I not allowed to have loud pipes? And I know alot of suzuki cruisers that have louder pipes then some harleys. Go to Volusia owners leauge and find out. Or check out you tube... lots of metric cruisers have loud pipes too. So I ask do you have a problem with them too, or is it just a pre-concieved notion that all guys with loud pipes are ass-holes? Cause personally I'm a pretty easy going guy. and I take offense to being judged solely on the bike I ride, isn't that what you don't like about the alleged Harley Dudes?? And I also ride with harley groups, and they seem pretty nice and outgoing to me. But I notice some of you sportbike guys putting your noses up in the air when a cruiser pulls up..... just saying isn't it kinda the pot and kettle story here???
  19. Like I said , I was beside myself because of what this guy wrote in the chicago tribune, acting as if his way of remembering or honoring was superior to those of us who chose to honor in a different way. Acting as if we who ride shouldn't be able to express ourselves in this passion we all share. I agree that maybe a different holiday might be a better setting to demonstrate, but you have to admit this, it puts into our thoughts and actions that we need to do more not less. Speak out for those who gave all and some. The VA not only needs to take care of our new Vets but the past vets and their families who also gave the ultimate sacrifice. I think we need to honor them, but don't just stop at honoring. Go beyond. And this is from a former infantryman proud to have served with and for these men and women I am proud to call brother and sister.
