The Apex Lei boots use the same race shock absorbing, dual compound sole you would see on their top of the line boots. Also note the extra protection for your Achilles on the back of the shoe. Nearly everything that could come in contact with the ground in a crash is replaceable. The heel cup, ankle slider, and toe slider are all replaceable and secured with simple phillips screws. The result is a boot that will last you for years to come through multiple crashes (if you are that unfortunate).
