  10. Available from AiM, the world leader in data acquisition, is the AiM Solo and AiM Solo DL GPS lap timers. AiM Solo AiM Solo DL Arguably the best lap timer ever made available from Riders Discount, the Solo has high-speed GPS, internal accelerometers, expansive data logging memory, USB download, a waterproof design, and a thoughtful feature set, all in one package. One of the many features is predictive lap times, a constantly updating real-time display of your current lap pace. Or, you can display a real-time +/- from your best lap time. The Solo records your lap times along with speed, track position, lateral g-forces, linear g-forces, yaw rate, heading, slope, satellite reception, and battery voltage. Each channel recorded at a frequency of 10-times per second (10 Hz). All tests are stored with a time and date stamp for on-screen review or PC download for further analysis. Download your Solo data to the included full version of RaceStudio2, AiM's professional data analysis software. Review your last session displaying your three best lap times along with duration and distance of the session, or a rundown of each lap along with max speed and minimum corner speed for each lap. A third data review page shows a histogram view of your lap times where you can identify patterns of driving or the tires coming in - or going away. Every lap you drive is mapped with great precision, which not only allows you to correlate data to track position, but also overlay maps to analyze driving lines. One of the most useful tools for analyzing driver performance and consistency is to break up the track into several sections and analyze sector timing and standard deviation within a test session. The Solo puts that powerful tool one click away on your PC. The track is automatically split up into straights and corners and a table provided with sector times for each and every lap. It also strings together your "theoretical best" lap, combining all your best sectors. A performance test ability is also built in, allowing you to measure 1/8th mile, 1/4 mile, and 0-60 MPH times. A huge benefit of a GPS based lap timer is no beacons. There's no beacon to forget nor will you have to hope someone else brought a beacon. There’s twenty-four lap timing satellites orbiting the earth - always on, and no batteries to replace. The Solo's internal lithium-ion battery will keep the Solo running for about 4 hours with the backlight on. Otherwise, a three-wire, 12V connection to vehicle power keeps it charged and running off the vehicles battery. Included in the box is the Solo (or Solo DL), Solo USB cable, USB/AC international power adaptor, 200 cm Solo power cable with 12V auto socket termination, mounting bracket, software CD (optionally downloaded). The difference between the Solo and Solo DL is the DL is a more advanced data logging model. The Solo DL will connect to over 300 supported ECU models, including OEM CAN, OBDII, and the most advanced third party ECU's in motorsports. Thus giving you a Solo with all the above features, plus the ability to record up to 100 additional channels coming from your ECU (model pending). The Solo DL will also seamlessly interface with our popular SmartyCam video recording with real-time data overlay. 13. I know it's sort of late notice, but OMRL is running at PIRC this weekend, June 13 & 14. If you've never been on the kart track, it's very nice, and has some fun elevation changes. Saturday is an UNOFFICIAL practice day that the track is running. We will be sharing the track with rental karts, but there should be enough bikes for us to get 30-40 minutes per hour. Cost is $50 (or at least it was last year) and starts at noon. We'll stop when they make us (6:00 or 7:00), so there should be PLENTY of riding time available. Rental bikes are available for $50 + $25 crash deposit. Don't crash and your $25 is refunded. inquire at ohiominiroadracingleague@gmail.com Racing on Sunday is $65 for the first class and $15 for subsequent. We'll run qualifying in the morning to determine afternoon grids. It is only 1 heat per class due to the time qualifying takes, but it's a longer track than CRP, so 10 laps is more track time (my best at CRP is :56.x, my best at PIRC last year was 1:15.x) Even if you don't ride, it is a great spectator facility, and they'll have exotic cars on the North track through 'extreme experience' or something. I wouldn't spend $300 on a few paced laps, but it is pretty badass to hear a McLaren and a Lambo ripping down the front straight without very little other engine noise to distort its song. stop by my blue "www.OnlinePaddock.com" canopy and say hi. We should have plenty of shade, water, and probably beers after we're doing riding for the day.
  14. Alpinestars Supertech R boots. Most sizes and colors available $299 shipped in the lower 48. A staple in motorcycle paddocks around the globe, Supertech R's offer a level of protection that is unrivaled and do it all in an incredibly comfortable manner. As such, Alpinestars saw it fit to slightly refine, rather than completely redesign, the Supertech R boots and also added some new colors too. Alpinestars Supertech R motorcycle boots use a two-piece design comprised of an outer shell and a separate, removable inner bootie. These two pieces work together to put your foot in a vault that’s surprisingly flexible, allowing the user to walk in a natural gait and control the bike with a reassuring feel, all without sacrificing safety in terms of crash protection. The exterior shell bristles with armor to protect the heel and the upper shin/calve areas from impact. Below this, a durable sole allows you to flex at the ball of your foot while being very rigid in front of and behind this point. The toebox is rigid and it is covered at one side by a molded shifter pad which spares the leather of excessive wear while a large replaceable toe slider resides on the outer-facing side. In addition to its protective properties, the outer shell is specifically engineered to provide two degrees of ventilation, depending on the wearer’s needs. A non-ventilated Supertech R boot still allows some air to get inside to keep your feet comfy while the ventilated model features die-cut perforations on top of the boot for exceptional cooling capacity. This allows wearers to choose a boot based upon the expected riding environment. The inner-facing side of the boot is made with a large swath of synthetic suede that’s designed not to snag against the motorcycle. In fact, the entire outer shell is rather smooth and linear so that, unlike boots with lots of buckles etc., Alpinestars Supertech R boots are less likely to catch on heel guards or other parts around the foot pegs. These unexpected grabs can be disastrous when you’re trying to grapple with a high-power superbike. The biggest difference between the Supertech R boots and that of their predecessors, is the inner Bio-mechanical ankle brace. Alpinestars Tech has chosen to use a new mesh material to further enhance wearer comfort through improved breathability and cooling performance. This highly engineered piece is designed to limit unwanted movement in a highly dynamic environment (like that of a crash situation) to reduce the risk of injury to the wearer. Working with the outer shell that’s designed to mitigate impact energy and resist abrasion, the two-part design is extremely well-adept to providing significant protection without hampering user control. Having just been put on closeout, these boots are in limited supply. To secure a pair for yourself, call MIKE at 866.931.6644 x 804 or send a note to FORUM at RIDERSDISCOUNT dot COM with 2011 ALPINESTARS SUPERTECH BOOTS in the subject line (be sure to specify your shoe size along with the color your prefer) and we’ll get back to you right away. Supertech R boots from Alpinestars. The Bio-mechanical ankle brace has been revised with a new mesh comfort liner and laces for even better comfort and durability. The new Bio-mechanical ankle brace is seen here in the foreground. Black on white vented Alpinestars Supertech R boots. There’s also a non-vented version available as seen here in solid-black. For a louder look, get ‘em in white with red. Then there’s these black, white and yellow vented boot for anyone craving maximum attention. If you ride a lot (and we mean, A LOT!) when the soles wear out, you can send these boots to Alpinestars’ US headquarters in California for new bottoms at a reasonable cost. Speaking of wear items, if you tend to fall down a lot, some parts of the boots, like this heal protector, can be easily replaced.

The dual has the same back-and-forth heat pattern as the standard, as well as the same neoprene panels and insulation layers. 18. The latest iteration of tire warmers from Woodcraft feature all new thermal fabric, better thermostats, and an upgraded construction process. The Woodcraft Dual Temp tire warmers have been some of the top warmers on the market and with these key updates in the Gen III, they've raised the bar even further. Get yours today from Riders Discount! Made in the USA with retail at $419.99, these are available and in stock at Riders Discount. Not yet listed on our website, these Woodcraft Tire Warmers can be ordered by calling MIKE at 866.931.6644 ext. 804 or by sending us a private message through this forum. Is email more convenient? Write to us at FORUM at RIDERSDISCOUNT dot COM, and we'll get back to you right away! So what exactly is new with these tire warmers? For starters, Woodcraft is using an all new thermostat that holds the temperatures to a tighter range. Tighter temperature ranges means more predictable tire feedback as soon as you get out on track. Next up, Woodcraft is using Polartec Wind Pro fabric, a new revolution in thermal fabric. This new thermal fabric features tight knit construction blocking 95% of wind. Finally, Woodcraft completely updated the construction of the tire warmers. They've gone through the entire warmer from end to end and upgraded every seam with double stitched nomex thread ensuring durability for years of abuse at the track. On top of all this, Woodcraft has retained all the great features we love from previous iterations. Their small gap heating elements ensure an evenly heated tire, fleece side curtains protect your tire from side winds, and easy, quick installation and removal of the warmers. One of the best features is their quick-disconnect plug. Woodcraft was one of the first to include a safety disconnect cord on their warmers which prevent you from accidentally leaving them on while off the bike. It is impossible to take these warmers off without disconnecting the plug first. Elasticized insulating fleece side curtains which cut heat loss at the edge of the tire In stock and ready to ship, give us a call to order these tire warmers today!
  19. The Knox Handroid gloves are probably the most unique looking gloves to come in to the Riders Discount office in quite some time. The exoskeleton spines running up the fingers and across the top of the hand were the first thing to catch my attention. These look like they should be the gloves for Bane carrying a fluorescent green fluid... Next was the wrist closure mechanism. Where there normally would be a Velcro closure on the gauntlet was instead, a Boa Lacing System. On the rest of the glove you'll find a full range of safety and technical features such as Kangaroo leather, external stitching, double layers of leather in impact areas and more we'll go over in this review. Retails at $269.95 First up, these are not yet listed on the website but we have these available to order. If you would like to place an order or have any questions, feel free to give MIKE a call at 866.931.6644 ext. 804. Is email more convenient? Send us a message through this forum or write to us at FORUM at RIDERSDISCOUNT dot COM, and we'll get back to you right away! The exoskeleton spines - While these do look very cool and enough for any curious enthusiast to start a conversation with you, they do serve a very real purpose. These spines are attached to a fixed point on the middle knuckles and move in and out of the top armor via hidden springs. These take a load off of your hand by helping to maintain the curve around your grip and serve as protection for your knuckles in the event you go down. External armor - Everywhere you look there is armor to protect your hand. The most crucial area and a common impact zone is the outside of your palm. Knox have added two sliders here along with an additional layer of leather along the pinky. Knox have also added a palm slider for even more protection. Knox really went above and beyond the "usual" amount of armor found on gloves. This armor position does not get in the way of your handlebar grip and you do not notice it's there. Boa Lacing System - Snowboarders, hikers, hard core runners and bicyclers, will have seen this system before. It's a high-tech replacement for Velcro and offers micro-adjustability. Basically turn the dial until the gauntlet is secured to your liking. When you're done, simply pull the dial out to release the tension. Available in black/white (pictured here), red, white, or all black. These fit true to size and are available today. Give us a call to place your order!
  20. Spidi has been producing gloves since the 1970’s and their 35+ years of experience means that they are no strangers to designing gear that performs at the highest level. The Italian brand used all of this experience, plus input and data from world-class riders like Andrea Dovisioso to bring us their latest and greatest pair of gloves – the Spidi Carbo Track. Available from Riders Discount, the Spidi Carbo Track gloves are full grain cowhide gauntlets that are held together with sturdy Kevlar thread. Multiple layers of leather cover vulnerable areas like the fingers, while synthetic Clarino is laid over it to reinforce the palms. The gloves are also bristling with other protective materials that work with the high-end leather to keep your hands safe. Like many gloves, you will find carbon fiber guards over the knuckles and back of the hands, but there are also multiple layers of energy absorbing materials underneath these pieces that help keep impact force to a minimum. The most noticeable feature of the Carbo Track gloves, however, has to be Spidi’s Warrior Tech system. These are the panels of rubbery, plastic-like material that run from the wrist to the pinkie on the outside of the hand. The material itself is highly abrasion resistant, has excellent impact absorbing properties, and works as a slider to deflect energy away. It is separated in to cube shaped pieces within each panel that allow it to flex extremely well without reducing the amount of protection it provides. Spidi’s Carbo Track gloves are both track ready and comfortable enough to be worn on the street, so they make a great option for any rider that is looking for high-end gloves that provide excellent protection and build quality. You can order a pair by getting in touch with MIKE through the forum or by calling 866.931.6644 ext. 804. If email is more convenient, feel free to send those to FORUM at RIDERSDISCOUNT dot COM and we’ll get back to you right away! The Spidi Carbo Track gloves are shown here in the Dovisioso replica graphic, but are also available in White/Black, Black, Black/Red, and Black/Yellow. The palm is reinforced with Clarino and Spidi’s Warrior Tech panels act as palm sliders. From the opposite side you can see how the Warrior Tech panel wraps around and covers the outside of the palm as well. Carbon fiber protects the knuckles and back of the hand. Multiple layers of energy absorbing materials are stacked underneath to keep impact energy to a minimum.
  21. Tire warmers are essential for any trackday enthusiast and racer. Tire warmers do exactly as they say, warm the tires. They get the tire carcass up to proper temp so you can rail on your bike in turn 1 of lap 1. Tire warmers allow you to have more hot laps in a trackday session as you won't be putting around the first lap or two getting them up to temp essentially waisting your money. Three settings - off, low, and high. This is really all you need for most trackday and racers. Set it to high (170 deg F) to get them up warmed up before your session. Low (130 deg F) allows you to keep them warm but not over cook them. Typically, the low setting is used during lunch or a long break. The big thing to note about Suzuka tire warmers is they are manufactured by Chicken Hawk and made in the U.S.A. Quality construction with more economical materials than the premium stuff used in Chicken Hawk's name brand warmers. The same level of construction and technological knowhow at a cheaper price point.
