conn-e-rot
Are you talking about the stud? We need some pics and a better explanation.
Gixxus Christ!
You mean the chrome shields that cover the pipes? The chrome heat shield is just clamped on, you take the bolts out of the clamps and then you still have to sort of pry it off because its held on by tension. thorne
CrazySkullCrusher I think you hit the nail. It looks like I need a Star bit to take the chrome cover off BLAH!!!!!!!. Piss poor design. I'm also missing a bolt on the lower part any ideas where i might obtain such a thing
Gixxus Christ!
The heat shields on my 1100 shadow were clamped on with just regular bolts. Take it to AutoZone and find a torx (grown-up for star) bit that fits. Remove the bolts and go to ace or home depot and find a bolt with the same thread. This isnt rocket surgery. just_some_dude
Harbor Freight, if you have one close by has a security bit set for cheap that usually has all those odd bits. http://www.harborfreight.com/100-piece-security-bit-set-68457.html
thorne
Actually it's not TORX, It's a Star looking Bolt as in a inverse of Torx
Gixxus Christ!
Ah, reverse torx. AutoZone carries the sockets for those...or at least they did
thorne
I'm hoping to find time this weekend to get it fixed. It's so frustrating
