Just wanted to toss a HUGE thanks to Standout who so graciously took me under his wing yesterday and helped me install my leveling kit and bigger blocks to my new F250.  Dude know's his shit and saved me MASSIVE cash, 66% to be exact.  He let me use his shop, his tools, his gas, and even his potty to get the work done.

As I posed earlier I had a set of leveling blocks and larger rear blocks I wanted installed on my truck, had a dude ready to do it 3 days now, and he iced me everytime.  I got tired of jerking around and PM'd Standout about meeting up Saturday for a no-homo work day.  He was at the shop before I even showed up, on his off day mind you, and ready to go.  I got there and in 45 mins or less we had the front end done, I was quoted 1.5 hours of work at $105 an hour from 3 different lift shops around the area, granted we had 2 people but still.  He let me use his tools, his lift, etc, and we rocked it out.  He was very helpful and taught me a few things along the way which I liked too.

Then came the rear end, get it?  Rear end, but remember this was non homo time.  So we got started on the rear blocks and turned out the U bolts they sent me were about 1/8inch too long, so we could only use them if we went super ghetto and put spacing washers in there, which wasn't really what either of us wanted to do.  Here is where it gets real and shows how good of a dude Alan is, he drove me around all the way out to Trails West to get the right size U bolts and back, no questions asked.  I mean like 45 minutes of driving, on a Saturday, in traffic.  Dude is just a good dude.

We finished up and when we got done just shot the crap a little bit.  Overall had we had the right size U bolts, with Alan's knowledge and experience, we would have been done in under 2 hours, best quote I had for total work was $300.00 or 3x1 labor hour at 105ish, you get the picture.  Let's just say that Alan was very gracious and told me not to worry about paying him and that it was his first lift and he enjoyed it etc.  No way that was happening, I just took up 4 hours of his time, wasted basically his whole Saturday, dude needed paid.

I took care of him and drove off into the sunset, not really, it was 4pm, but I went home, took the wife for a ride and got some food.

Alan is a great guy and really knows his stuff, told me he can usually do an engine swap in less than 2 days and most in 1 day!  That's impressive I don't care who you are.

So a big shoutout to Alan, and be sure if you guys have car/truck questions to let him know.  I also met the owner of the shop/dealer he works at, dude is a LEGIT guy, I mean super cool.  I loved working on the truck there, and it was a super nice shop.  Oh and acutally he told me their hourly labor rate and its WAY less than any shop I called around, even like Monroe, Meinke, etc.  WAY LESS.  So get at Standout for all your car/truck needs.
