RidersDiscount
In the past, AGV would only offer the extremely popular Valentino Rossi graphics on their flagship track helmets, but this changed with the release of the much more affordable K3 helmet. The Italian brand has since been allowing Rossi fans to get their hands on some of his most famous helmet designs at an entry level price. Modeled after the top-of-the-line AGV GP-Tech helmet but at a value price, the AGV K3 offers excellent ventilation and many of the same features as the track-focused model. Three user-adjustable intakes are fitted on the front of the helmet, which perfectly compliment four exhaust vents on the back. Inside, the Dry-Lex comfort liner relies on heavy metals woven into its fabric to prevent bacterial growth and delay the onset of the foul odors that come with it. And, while this slows microbe growth, nothing can completely prevent the interior from getting a little raunchy after lots of use. This is why the liner in the AGV K3 is fully removable, making it easy to freshen up. AGV’s standard XQRS (Extra Quick Release System) makes swapping out visors easy. The helmet comes with a clear, anti-fog/anti-scratch faceshield as standard, but we have Smoke, Iridium Blue, and Iridium Mirror shields available as optional extras. One of the great things about the AGV K3 Rossi helmets is that they give you a chance to own some of the legendary racer’s older and very hard to find designs. Current helmets include: - 5-Continents- Wake Up- The Chicken- Dreamtime- Gothic Black- The Donkey- Icon- 46 We’ll be bringing all of them to you in this thread, starting with the Dreamtime, so stay tuned. You can also click one of the links above to check the helmet out on our website. If you’re interested in these, or any other AGV helmets, feel free to get in touch with Nathan. He can be reached by phone at 866.931.6644 ext. 809, or you can send him a PM through this forum. AGV K3 Rossi DreamtimeFirst worn by Rossi at Phillip Island in 2007, the Dreamtime graphic features symbols and themes that put an aboriginal art-inspired twist on his traditional Sun/Moon motif. RidersDiscount
Another of the reissue Valentino Rossi graphics offered on the AGV K3 is the Gothic. This design was worn in 2006 and 2007, before the Dreamtime took over. It is a simple yet striking graphic, with his commonly used Sun & Moon motif found on each side. The AGV K3 Rossi Gothic Black. RidersDiscount
One of the most popular graphics made available for the AGV GP-Tech was the replica of Valentino Rossi’s 5-Continents, and it is now available on the affordable K3. The 5-Continents design was first debuted in 2008 and was his go-to graphic through 2010. The Aldo Drudi design features the sun and moon motif, only with a shift to the sun being on the front, with the rays extending rearward toward the moon at the back. Each sun-ray represents a different continent and incorporates different design elements from each one. Continents represented include Australia, Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas. RidersDiscount
As is standard for every Italian MotoGP round, Valentino Rossi had Aldo Drudi and his design shop come up with yet another clever helmet scheme for the 2010 Misano GP. That design, which was released as a limited edition of the GP-Tech helmet, is now available on the K3. The Rossi “Wake Up” helmet features a large clock face right at the very top with the hands pointing to 2:00. The scheme represented a challenging point in Rossi’s career, when he was just coming off a leg injury and had missed four rounds. It also pokes fun at is his famously poor timekeeping prior to his premier class days, when he was known for sleeping in and occasionally missing part of practice was the norm. RidersDiscount
Some of them are more interesting, but I personally dig his regulars such as the 5 continents or his new Elements lid. Definitely a unique customer base on these lids...
RidersDiscount
The last of the newly released line of Valentino Rossi graphics for the AGV K3 is the Chicken. This helmet was worn during the 2009 Malaysian Grand Prix in celebration of his winning a 9th World Championship. The chicken and egg design is a play on an Italian saying that basically translates to, “the old chicken makes good broth, but doesn’t lay eggs.” This is a joke based upon the fact that Rossi was able to win his 9th championship, despite being 31 years old at the time. The Chicken was originally released as a limited, numbered edition of the GP-Tech helmet, which is sold out and no longer available. The release of the AGV K3 Rossi Chicken gives you the chance to own this collectable and very functional helmet at a much more attainable price! RidersDiscount
Here’s another of the AGV K3’s available for the Valentino Rossi fans out there. See our first post in this thread for the complete list. The K3 Rossi Icon sports graphics that were used by Rossi when he won the Mugello Grand Prix aboard the legendary, 990 cc V5 powered Honda RC211V in 2002. The graphics were modeled after his father’s helmet design and feature an Italian flag motif. Additional details include his signature on the front left side, a number of small icons running around the base of the helmet that represent different aspects of Rossi’s life. The AGV K3 Rossi Icon helmet is shown here with an optional dark smoke shield.
