Knee Jerk Troubleshooting.....

I'm thinking I got a tank of bad gas.....but, thought I'd get opinions.....

no issues at all until I fill up yesterday, then about 5 miles down the road(highway speeds) start to feel a little bit of loss of power, slight surges in power.....then it actually stalled on me on one take off.  Figured it was bad gas, and just have to run it out.  Since highway speeds are 70-75, should work out quick, right?

Hit the problem this morning, after about 5 miles, same issue.....

I'm wondering if it could be the fuel filter too.

Opinions?

If you suspect the gas, I'd dump the fuel into a spare can, and refill with fresh fuel... if it clears up, dump can into bonfire, enjoy...

if it doesn't clear up, then start working the fuel filter or other angles...

I've had good experiences with seafoam back when I had "surging" issues.... half a can each for 2 fill ups and the issues were gone.

With a little bit of information you have provided, I would say check your spark. Sounds more like weak spark to me than bad fuel if its not doing it right at start up. I guess something is heating up and causing you problems.
