If you are accustomed to filtering it is not really out of the ordinary to slip out of a situation like this. Most motorcycles are only occupy about 2 feet of the width of the lane. An average minivan is 6 1/2 feet wide. Standard lane width is 12 feet. I motorcycle commute 160 miles a week, rush hour, freeway, Cleveland so I've got a little 1st hand experience with this type of situation.
