Tpoppa
What could make the clutch pull feel significantly stiffer? I rode about 250 miles today and by the end of the day my forearm was on fire. I've had clutch cables go bad before, but I don't think that's the problem this time. I just lubed and adjusted the cable. The cable moves freely, but the pull is still really stiff. It a 2010 CBR600RR (new last June) and it only has 4,300 miles on it. Gixxus Christ!
Bound up cable, maybe pivot on the lever needs lubed or worst case the actuator is binding up. Or maybe you're just not used to riding again yet.
mojocho
Is your free play within spec?
Tpoppa
Or maybe you're just not used to riding again yet.I considered this. This was my first semi long ride after that gawd-awful winter.
Tpoppa
Is your free play within spec? Yes. It's still under warranty, so I could take it to the dealer. I really don't want to be without a bike since the weather is finally acceptable.
mojocho
Assuming no work was done to your clutch plates and you put in fresh oil. No issues with the plates slipping the cable moving freely I'd say you just weren't used to it. When I put in a new cable I had the same issue but either I got used to it or it broke in. For conditioning exercises, I'd recommend you switch hands when you fap it.
magley64
Clutch "cable"? Didn't know modern bikes still used those... jk man, been a long winter, your clutch Springs might just be stiff from the cold.
jporter12
Under warranty? Get it in and and at least on record that there's an issue, that way if something breaks shortly out of warranty, there will be a record of it and SHOULD make it easier to get it covered. Unless it truly is that your hands have turned into girl hands...
