The shift spindle is CNC machined from an aluminum body, with stainless steel hardware and is available in gold as pictured.

The shift spindle is the rod that comes out of the engine which is attached to the shift rod.  When you move your gear lever up or down, this rotates the shift spindle which in turn rotates the shift drum into the gear you've selected.  Here you can see an example of it installed -

On some sportbikes, the shift spindle sticks out pretty far and when the shift rod is moved it can create extra stress on the shaft itself causing it to bind in the existing supports.  With continued use and continued stress, this condition only gets worse and results in degraded shift quality and poor gear selection.  Installing the Sato Racing shift spindle holder extends the support of the shaft virtually eliminating the stress caused by shifting.
