Nitrousbird
Damn, that's awesome. Bet it took some skill to fly, and a good chunk of change to build it.

vitamincj
There is a Jet R/C show west of Columbus every year. It is pretty bad ass. Most of the "jet" engines are not that kind however there is usually one or two. Heart of Ohio Jet Scramble IIRC. Maybe they are not having it this year. :-O EDIT: Check here August 26, 27, 28th at Washington Courthouse this year. CJ
Guest 1sweet3.4
my dad and i build the standard prop driven 2 stroke rc planes, i have about 600 in mine as it it. i think one turbine for that aircraft was probably along the lines of 3-4grand. that is easily a 20000 dollar aircraft. Saw one of those wreck once. dude had like 7 grand in it and it was about hafl that size. they can go 270+ mph real, not scale speed and it was during one of those runs that the guy lost control into a corn field. Kevin R.
me and my dad used to build the 2 stroke rc planes as well, until he nose-dived it. that hobby is now over.

Actually most of the planes at that show are real jet engines like the ones in the vid with a few ducted fan planes sprinkled in. Oh an this one has not flown yet but should be soon. http://homepage.eircom.net/~skycam/C-17A_Globemaster_III/ [ 26.
