Dual Webers Suck
My grandma has a 2001 Ford Focus, just a regular cheap one. A few weeks ago, it started to idle weird, sometimes it idles really high, and sometimes it will idle really low and just die. When driving (and idling, to a lesser extent) it makes a puttering sound all the time, and accellerates very, very slowly, and jerks around constantly. It's like it just loses all power for a second, recovers and thus jerks, and repeats. My uncle keeps talking out his ass about what's wrong with it and keeps trying to fix it and it doesn't do anything, and I really have no idea because I suck at cars Any ideas? Berto
check the spark plugs and wires my mom's van had corroded wires which made it do that. make sure all of the intake compnents are plugged in and not leaking.
civicboy375
I had an old Toyota once that did something similar to that. RX7dood is right, I bet's its the spark plugs and wires. If you replace those and the idle is still high, just lower it.
Dave1647545494
first is the SES light on? second if it is on what code is it? my best guess without ever seeing the car is the Iac motor is going or the tps is sending funny voltage out. hth
