Mallard
If a 1992 Prelude S with the 2.2L F22A1 breaks a timing belt what needs to be replaced? Are all Honda's interference engines and will it need a new engine? How much does that normally cost? How much would the car be worth? Black ITR Guy
almost gonna have to take it apart to know. ive seen some timing belts break and it not hurt anything, and ive seen it destroy a perfect motor
Guest TGrant
The F22 is an interferance motor so you could have anything from a bent valve to a valve stuck in the piston. Like ITR GUY said you are going to have to pull the head off to know for sure. It is very unlikely that there isnt any damage though so expect the worse.
