nismo Posted April 5, 2005 Report Share Posted April 5, 2005 Britt posting on Dougs account.The problem started after I was pushing a car with my car.Tried to start it after the push and wouldnt start.tried to start 30 minutes later, started on its own then parked it.went to start it up and the starter wouldnt engage.There is power battery tests good,took out starter had it tested and the starter is good.I changed the ignition switch,clutch switch,pushrod sensor,ignition relay,a\c relay,gearbox sensor,clutch sensor and still all I get is a click from the ignition relay.Oh yeah when I push start the car it runs normal and the clutch works normal it just wont start on its own.The car is a 91 escort lx.Any info would be appreciated. Browning Posted April 5, 2005 Report Share Posted April 5, 2005 what about your solenoid? You can jump them over with a srew driver to se if thats your problem. I know u said it was checked but..i went throught the same thing on my 91 Escort..replaced about everything.....then found out it was the starter.
