Trouble Maker Posted April 20, 2005 Report Share Posted April 20, 2005 I need someone to press the spindle out of the bearing, then the bearing out of the knuckle. Or some advice on how to do it. I have a hydraulic press, so pressing the bearing out, back in, and pressing the spindle back in is no problem. But when pressing the spindle out, as far as I understand it, I need something that is the exact size to fit inside of the bearing, but be big enough to get the spindle. I don’t think I’ll just happen have something that exact size. I took it to NAPA in Grove City last time, but I feel the charged way too much (~$40 IIRC). This is for a 2000 S4 btw, not that it should really matter (unless someone has some die sets for a press that would fit it). Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA.
