Tractor Posted September 24, 2004 Report Share Posted September 24, 2004 Thats a good guess. I know that on some makes/models the fans will run even with the key out and you walking away from them. At least for a time. I'm not sure why they do this, but I'm guessing its only as smart as the temp sensor. They could be cooling down the fluid in the radiator to try to keep the engine temp from rising from all the hot dense metal and the like. I'm not sure how you'd troubleshoot this unless you could take readings of the temp sensors resistance. Maybe someone else will help out here. You could just replace it and see.
