Boost leak testing contraption

Here is something i made today to test for boost/vacuum leaks:

I found a cap that was just the size of the inlet on the turbo (PB blaster cap) drilled a hole in it, and put a tire valve stem through it. btw jono gave me the idea.

basically what i did was use a ring clamp and clamp it to the inlet of the turbo. and get my brand new air compressor and run about 20 psi in that bitch to try and find the leak!

here are pics. The flexible line with the clip on the end helps because the cap is a bit flimsy, putting enough pressure on the valve to release air kinda sucks, also come with a pressure gauge on it which is nice. The hose and gauge are off one of those cheapo foot pumps u can buy at meijer. i know i'm probably not the first to make something like this but its easy and low budget and could help some of you boost heads. or even if ur just looking for a vacuum leak on an N/A car.

Yep, I made one a few weeks ago from a plumbing end cap from Lowe's. They have multiple different sizes, but I still had to get a silicone reducer to fit where my filter is.
