my friend was telling me about a fuel control module that will limit your air/fuel mix, so you can get better gas milage. does anyone have one or know more about them than i do. just tring to save some money w/ my explorer, i have to fill up EVERYDAY! it costs me $30/35 every time. let me know.

Thanks!

Damn, quit driving 300 miles a day and you wont have that problem.

Are you in 4wd full time? have severely low tire pressure?

Check 02 sensors, they may need replaced.

Dont buy any aftermarket shit that claims gas milage increases.

yeah i have to drive 300 miles a day if i want to make good $$$... yes it's AWD, my tire presure is pretty normal, altough i should check it. i will i know if the O2 sensor is bad, and how much, if anything, will it help if i replace it?

A bad 02 sensor will cause you to get much worse gas milage, since the ECU relies on it for closed loop operation during normal cruising conditions.

Closed loop is how the ECU tries to keep the air/fuel ratio as close to stoichiometric as possible, within certain safty limits. As an 02 sensor goes bad, it reads leaner then it should, so the ECU tries to add more fuel to compensate, and get things back to stoich. It is actually a design safty factor that governs it to work that way. Better to run too rich and have bad gas milage, then run too lean and have detonation and possibly a melted piston, just from a bad 02 sensor.
