Boost-n-Juice Posted March 27, 2004 Report Share Posted March 27, 2004 I'm putting together my 306 short block and cam went into each journal easily except the back one, once in place it's very hard to turn, with the cam gear on you have to use both hands to turn it. ridenred27 Posted March 27, 2004 Report Share Posted March 27, 2004 no it should not. make sure that the cam does not have any burrs on it. also look into the jornal and see were it is wearing at if it is on the front of the bearing the bearing may have been damaged when it was installed. or the bearings may be out of spec or they were installed out of order. if keith installed the bearings at napa call him monday and tell him the problem he will make it right. I was looking at the back bearing and I think the bearing is a little side ways, that or the block isn't true. It spins freely until the last 1/4" is pushed in, then it binds up. Took the block up to Keith and there was a bur on the front cam bearing, they took a file/knife to it and it's all good now.
