ok guys, im starting to figure out how much work ive got ahead of me on my lincoln this summer.

This is a 1965 Lincoln Continental, and i have air shocks and leaf springs. One of the bands that holds my left rear leaf springs together popped off when the jack slipped as i was attempting to replace the shocks (yes attempting. the previous owner welded the lower mounting bolt to the bracket instead of bolting it there  ).

Can i just have that band replaced or do i need to replace the whole spring? Is the car safe to drive with that band off?

I've had enough problems dealing with this on my own im going to pay a pro to do it. Does anyone know about how much i can expect replacing the shocks and springs to cost?

Thank you very much for your help, i hope to get this car to one of the weekend meets this summer. graemlins/gives.gif
