1TrueSS
Ok, here is the deal. I have dial-up now since I have moved out. What is the best, for the price, high speed internet service I can get. I currently pay about $90 for cable and phone service. I saw I can get high speed internet, cable TV, and phone service for $90 from WOW! Is this a good internet provider? I am realy limited to the funds I can throw out per month. Any info would be great.

Nitrousbird
Insight sucks balls. True story (I'm a former Insight customer) I work for WOW, and have been a customer for a while. Get the 500k package; it's only $5 more a month, and well worth it.
Farkas
RR > WoW for sure... RR's 5mbps line is pretty good, And I realy cant complain about reliability.. the only time I dont have service is when they are updating the servers, or they're making the lines even faster.. and usually they do that stuff weeee in the morning. 1TrueSS
For the price it sounds like WOW is going to have my business. Can you really tell a difference between the 112k and 500k

You called it Road Runner, that's good enough for me. RR is nothing more than a 3rd party tech support/webhoster used by a number of companies (such as Insight, Warner, etc.). So PPPLEEEAAASSSSEEEE explain how all of a sudden this 3rd party is better than WOW, who doesn't have to rely on a 3rd party to provide all of their services (when you call for HSD tech support, you are talking to a WOW rep, not some guy from Road Runner that knows jack shit about who is providing their service). BTW, we offer 6Mbps w/ our Ultra package, and we actually care about people getting the speeds we advertise. And Ben, you'll notice a big difference between the 112k and the 500k. I work with this stuff every day, and have been for a while now, I wouldn't recommend it unless I truely thought it would be of benefit to you. I don't upsell people on speed packages they won't really benefit from.
88lx5oh
insight blows my ass.. if icould get other service where im at i would... i pay $80 a month for digital cable, and RR.. they dont even offer different grades of internet speeds. so homo... plus the modem they gave us shit it self in like 4 months, and for about a month our internet would go on and off every 3 hours. they suck. i have had WOW before i love it. we ahd the ultra package and it was hella fast.. great for xbox live and huge file downloads

CJINOHIO03
How is the phone service through these companies? I heard it goes down a lot because it is digital? CJ
Nitrousbird
Originally posted by CJINOHIO03: How is the phone service through these companies? I heard it goes down a lot because it is digital? CJAs long as the install is solid, it should go down rarely if at all (at least w/ WOW). Extended lenght power outages in a neighborhood (many hours/days) would eventually kill off the back-up batteries in the system, but usually during those lengths of outages, other utilites are affected as well, so it's not really a valid point. And contrary to what some believe, digital phone service DOES work with security systems.
RedRocket1647545505
I too HATE Insight. They are the only company available out here for cable. We've been here a little over 3 years and they haven't updated anything in that time. 1. STILL no high speed internet of anykind 2. No digital cable. 3. Endless bitching to them does nothing. 4. Insight sucks 5. New company needs to offer services out here. 6. ????????? 7. Profit
