Guest turinbrakes
I've just spent hours on the Symantec website trying to figure out how the hell to manually remove this friggin virus. I know there are some guys/gals here who work with computers. Can any of you offer some advice? It shuts down antivirus software so standard removal isn't an option, and I've tried the only removal tool for the Gaobot worm, but it's not the right one. graemlins/wtf.gifgraemlins/wtf.gif I just thought it was worth a shot to see if any of you have advice... Thanks! Jess
Guest turinbrakes
Oh yeah, one more thing. I've got 2 copies of the same virus as well! I don't know if that makes a difference...
Craig
https://knowledgemap.nai.com/phpclient/viewKDoc.aspx?externalID=VIL_101100&sliceID=&docID=KC.VIL_101100&url=vil/vil_101100.xml&dialogID=6099493&docType=DOC_VIL&iterationID=1 There are manual removal instructions at the bottom of that page. You may also want to try to download stinger. It is a stand alone utility from Mcafee that will take care of most popular virus.
KennyFKINPowerz
Try this. This is the removal tool that I use here at work for customer machines. http://ronjohnsonphotography.com/john/FxGaobot.exe
