Guest Crankshaft
<font color ="midnightblue"> So I've never really liked jazz before, but I just discovered that, when used for relaxing back ground music, it's really quite soothing. Now, since I have no experience in jazz, here is my question: what are some of your favorites? I think I like what's called "smooth jazz" according to Launchcast player. Late on AS there's a show called Big O that has some really nice jazz music; I'm looking for something along those lines. Suggestions of artists or style? It seems fairly cool, and I'd like to hear more. EDIT- an ya know what--this should really be in the parking lot. Not sure how it got here. The Pikey
Pretty much anything Miles Davis, but Miles Davis-Kind of Blue is a must have. Arguably the best Jazz album ever made. It was a collaboration with a few Jazz legends...John Coltrane...etc. Scott Peace
Devils Advocate
AS > Life... And Jazz is pretty badass. I will benefit from this thread.
Mowgli1647545497
Anything from Wynton Marsallis. Bradford Marsallis too, for that matter, but he's usually more up-tempo.
Guest Crankshaft
<font color ="midnightblue"> Thanks Mowgli; you reminded me that I have several CDs of Marsallis, and you're right--he's pretty damn good. I also found some Arturo Sanduval (sp) and Louis Armstrong. Not too shabby. graemlins/thumb.gif
