copperhead
http://www.local6.com/news/4643968/detail.html Looks like there is strong hope in bionics. I pray that this means that a friend of mine that has been paralyzed and stuck in a wheelchair for the past 16 years may finally have a chance to stand once again. Science Abuse
There have been similar and more succesful developments in augmentation, and have recentlty gone to QC and tooling, to gauge production cost. the beuty of working off augmentation was, it just mimicked {sp?} movement directly, no more guessing and writing code. ya put it on some one who "works", record data, and run that program for some one who doesn't "work". They've been playing around with fitting walking aparati' to parapalegics for about a year. It kinda resembles the lower part of the robotic loader from the movie "Aliens", but not nearly as bulky. There's severly cool shit going on with robotics these days.
Nitrousbird
WOW, talk about a news station covering OLD NEWS. I saw that guy doing all of that a while ago on Discovery Health. It had his whole story and everything on it, about a 1/2 hour dedicated to him.
