It does't elongate your virtebrea, it just spaces them apart. Take one of those chicks and cut her rings off, she'll sever her spinal chord if she tries to move. I forget the show.. but a woman took hers off and couldn't hold her head up and put em back on cuz her neck was too sensitive to the wind.
