Science Abuse
Most compelling evidence yet. I'd worship them if they were still around.

zeitgeist57
Hot Rod Magazine did an article on the Turbonique rear axles two or three months ago. Yes, they shoot flames and yes, they pushed a mustang back in the 60s to some pretty awesome 1/4 mile times and trap speeds.

thorne
Lone wolf Mcquide had one of these superchargers on his truck. Old movie but thought it would point it out.

Science Abuse
so what the hell? Why didnt these superchargers stick around? Read the descriptions again, tell me what part of that design sounds conducive to long life. For the love of god, they're liquid fuel rockets, man! Research: found -> "The Black Widow", a VW beatle powered only by on of their engines, set a record at 9.80@168mph. It was later destroy in another record attempt crash at tampa where it lifted from the ground and tumbled through the traps. It's speed at the 1000ft mark was 180mph. That's fucking sick.
