owndjoo
Well, i had my first race with WERA this weekend at Beaverun in PA. I pulled of a 3rd, 4th, and 5th(should've had 2nd but screwed up on a 130mph kink( trying to pass 3 guys at once). i, along with everyone there, was really surprised at my performance. i started in last or in the 2nd to last row in all my races and came back from a 10 second deficit in the race i got 5th in to challenge for 2nd. i even ran down some expert riders in a couple classes as well. smallest class had 14 riders. anyway, here are some shots from the weekend. http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a314/owndjoo/t1.jpg http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a314/owndjoo/t2.jpg http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a314/owndjoo/t2a.jpg

owndjoo
few more. BTW, orane shirt is to let other riders know i'm a newbie. kinda pisses off the fast guys when i come around 'em with that flappin in the breeze too..... http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a314/owndjoo/pimp.jpg http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a314/owndjoo/DSC_9770_WM.jpg http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a314/owndjoo/DSC_8553_WM.jpg http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a314/owndjoo/DSC_9432_WM.jpg

owndjoo
yea, wide open through both kinks. i thought that took balls, until i started brakin late into 1(2nd marker) with the ass end all over the place and divin into 1 whackin it wfo in 3rd, swappin over to turn 2 and clickin 4th, holding that wfo with the knee and toes slidin all the way through 2 and 3 just nippin the limiter and slammin on the brakes and downshifing to 3rd for 4 while still hangin off, then rappin it open through 4 draggin knee, toes, bodywork and one time exhaust, with the ass end twitching. i still can't believe the grip that bike has through there. BTW, what kinda lap times you put down? i had a 1.06.31 in sunday practice and i'm pretty sure i clipped off a 1.05 when i went out for the wrong class....(i ran down and passed a new r6 that was runnin 1.06's. Orion
im almost positive your times on the bike are faster than my times in my car. i touched 135 down the back straight through the kink when my car was stock, im almost too scared to take it back now. better have good brakes setting up for that 200 degree uphill turn at the end, though. owndjoo
yea, the hairpin is where i almost highsided. i'm not braking until the cone that was setup as an exit target. so basically i'm 6th gear pinned almost to redline clear through that kink and out to the edge and then start braking. i ran off the end a couple times tryin to get it right. that's also where a backmarker pushed me of the track.....i had rolled off it through there and was back on it and trying to get around his outside and next thing i know i'm in the grass at well over 100. couldnt get it stopped in time and just kissed the tires. owndjoo
forgot- what kind of car you have? my bike is prolly around the 130mph mark through there as well. my buddy on his new gixxer 6 still has the speedo hooked up and saw 155 through there!! he was turning 1.02's. the fastest guy there was on a gixxer 1k and almost set the new track record until he lost it in 6 and broke both wrists and an arm. he was down in the low 59's if not a 58. owndjoo
no idea. i just started. This weekend i got two 3rd's and two 2nd's. i wish there was someone taking pictures in the carousel at nelson ledges........just look at my sig pic. now think it's a right hand banked corner. my body is different. so my head is down by my right hand looking way through the corner now, too. bike is leaned much farther over. knee is down and pushed up toward the bike. elbow is on front of knee and prolly 1" from dragging.....now that was a fun weekend!
