Need T-56 Rebuilt

Hey all,

 

I need to have the transmission rebuilt in the TA and would like to have it rebuilt with upgraded parts. Is there anyone local that can do this for a good price? I have been thinking about just buying the parts from t56rebuilds.com and doing it myself to save some money, but since the trans is a very critical component, I think I would rather have an expert do it. If you know of anyone, let me know. Thanks!!

There's a guy at Bobb Chevy who does all of the local GM dealership tranny rebuilds. GM Master Tech, blah blah blah. The ONLY thing he does is trannies, and had mine done in half a day.

Mike, contact Goron at buckeye Auto... he's built a few fBody tranny's and I've been very impressed with his work... ask John... Shawn beats the living piss out of his car and it keeps coming back for more.

Just stay away from Cottman Transmissions. Worst quality of customer service and labor I've ever seen in an automotive business.

There is a guy outside of grovecity that did a good job on my transmission in my 01 z who would charge around 500 bucks plus the cost of parts if you are interested

Just saw your post John. I pm'd you back this morning. I am going to start working on the car when I get back from vaca.

Send it down to Joe. It will total 639 in parts to do it yourself and for the extra 200 you get a 1 year warrenty. This being said, I rebuilt mine because its easy to rebuild manuals. The hardest part is lining up the shift bars in the t56 housing.
