Guest sandman Posted June 17, 2006 Report Share Posted June 17, 2006 I know it's summer and your dog could use this as a steam room instead of a house but I need to get rid of it. I built it a couple of years ago and got rid of my dog when I moved. It's 4x4x4 plus roof I used 1/2 in plywood on the inside and out with 2x4's 16 on center all the way around for the walls and floor. It put 3in. pink panther insulation and 1in. blue foam insulation in all walls and floor. It has an A frame roof with an overhang on the front. It has about 5 rafters for the roof, fully insulated. I used tar paper, shingles and drip edge for the outside. It is 2 pieces, house and roof. The bottom of the roof has 2x4 on it that fit perfectly into the top of the house once in place. I also have a plastic base/skid that it sits on the the wood is not on the ground. Total weight is probably pushing 350-400 pounds. I spent over 500.00 in materials and 40+ hours in labor.
