thorne
Ok, I've got a 2005 L67 monte, I was starting my car this morning (Its cold) and noticed a tap or a knock noise when i was in front of the car. I popped the hood and could not hear it at all the intake makes to much noise. When i got over on the passenger side and leaned down I could hear it more. The sound to me sounds like something in the valve train. But I don't want to blow something up, So if anyone can help me figure out if its knock (ROD) or Valve train i would appreicate this.. The other reason i think its the valve train is due to my higher shifting points. if thats the case I've got some INTENSE fucking problems...... I plan on swapping out the current rockers for 1.85 split ratios but thats not in the books for next year. So any help is GREATLY appriecate Some Info 2005 Monte L67 17K Synthetic since first oilchange 3.4 Pulley CAI 2.5 inch cat back U-Bend Delete ^I thought that would tell it but just to clarify^ Only Drinks Sunnoco super 94. Buck531
take off the S/c belt and see if it still does it. I might have time on Saturday to swing by if you want me to take a peek at it. Does the tapping get louder as you rev or does it go away? Kawi636R
i know that over on club gp someone was talking about the same problem when really it was just the injectors believe it or not making the sound....did you take off the engine cover cuz i herd that its sposed to silence the injector noise...just what i have read before
Duff1647545513
Engine cover should be taken off anyway..... it holds heat. I didn't notice an increase in noise when i took mine off though.
