Kevin R.
What is a good, easy to use product that I can use to strip the old paint off of a fender? Preferably something cheap and available locally, aka Wal-Mart, Advance, etc. Thanks
Rotarded1647545491
Brake fluid
Farkas
IMO, brake fluid might not be the best choice because it can be a bit too harsh and will be absorbed into the metals and could possibly give you problems. I would just go to advanced auto and just pick up some air craft paint remover, spray it on.. let it sit for about 15 minutes and wash the paint off with a hose or power washer if you can get your hands on one. I have heard this from a few people but was curious if there was something better. I can really just spray it off with water after it eats and bubbles up? Mensan
Oh yeah. It's pretty quick too. There's all kinds of stuff at Home Depot as well.
XChris1632X
i dont like aircraft remover. i have had problems with it wanting to stay in the metal and contaminate my new paint. if you do use it at least take the fender off instead of just taping. i know of people using it on attached parts and it is easy to get into other cracks and contaminate new paint once again. s13
Don't get the spray can aircraft remover, works like shit. Get the kind in the bucket and buy a paint brush and some gloves.
Buckeye1647545503
Why do you think it needs stripped? Everyone always want to stripp stuff if the old stuff is not cracked or peeling don't stripp it. IF you do then just sand it off with some 80 grit
Guest Removed
air craft stripper will stay in the surface if not handled correctly. media blasting would be best.

Im not media blasting it because I dont care enough about the part. I think I may just go the sanding route if I even decide to repair the fender. I am still weighing my options. 34bboley1647545507
Use M.E.K (Methyl Ethyl Ketone) to remove the stipping chemical prior to painting. Also smeels good, like model airplane glue.
