Science Abuse
You guys all know what a 16v is, so that saves me a paragraph. Considering what these are starting to go for, this is a steal, buy it before I change my mind. I've put 9000 miles on this car in the year and a half that I've owned it, and every one has been a joy. It's just too small for family living, and gives me too much driving confidence to haul my child around in it it. Being a former One Lap of America racer (2005, #77), it's a blast to drive, but not to put the kids in. 1986 Mercedes Benz 190E 2.3 16v 5spd; $6,000 Now, for this specific car: Miles: 240k (Engine rebuilt 89K ago) Recent maintenance: PRior to the One Lap, MB Classic of Cincinatti (sponsor) went through the car replacing anything that gave the slightest inclination of being a possible problem. They spent far more on reliability then anything else. In the time I've owned it, all it has needed was an alternator and a charcoal cannister. *Bosch Alternator *New Behr Radiator *Front calipers *rear caliper rebuild *All metal brake lines replaced *All brake flex hoses replaced *New O2 sensor *New spark plugs, distributor cap, rotor, and wires *New water pump and thermostat *new water hoses *Valve adjustment and new valve cover gasket *New serpentine belt *New belt tensioner *New K&N Air filter *Coolant temp sensors replaced *New Shift knob and boot *New shift tower bushings *New battery and tray *New hood, hood pad, and left-front quarter panel *New paint over 40% of the car Modifications: *17” 5 spoke AMG rims with new tires *ATE Power Disc rotors in front. *Zimmermann cross drilled rotors in rear *Textar pads front and rear *H&R Springs front and rear *Bilstein Sport shocks front and rear *De-catalyzed exhaust *Alpine CD Deck w/iPod cable *Sachs sport clutch *AMG regrind Cams Why it’s a $6,000 car: *The One Lap decals have damaged the clear coat in a number of places, and there is some “cone rash”. *There is some rust under the car, and a few coin-sized bubbles under the paint. *The dash is cracked, and the wood trim is tired *Drivers rear window does not work. *Odometer stopped working approx 1000 miles ago. *Differential Cover has a crack and drips fluid, must refill occasionally. The LSD clutches need replaced, also. A diff-rebuild would be a sound investment. Extras: *One Lap Dash Plaque *Soft and shiney flawless dash (not installed) *Complete 20 year vehicle history The car is a joy to drive as-is. I’ve gotten more compliments and conversations from passers-by then with any other car I’ve owned. I must humbly confess that it is faster around a road course then my previous lapping-day car with 100hp more. It has ticked away 1:13s at Beaverun where I'd previously bested 1:25. It cost $42,000 new in 1986, thats $72,000 adjusted for inflation, 6 grand is a hell of a deal! Also consider, being an 86, it's going to begin apriciating. If you hold onto it, you stand a great chance of making money, hell it's garaunteed. http://img92.imageshack.us/img92/9526/ad1vw1.jpg http://img241.imageshack.us/img241/7959/ad2pm5.jpg Open to trades, looking for pre-93 Benz SELs and TEs (or diesels)

Science Abuse
Bad news: a bit of noise makes me fear the Diff is lost. Good News: I just bought another one! Comes with car. Good news: With the current diff, it still does 150...on a closed course, of course. At that speed though, it sounds like I'm being chased by an ME109. If I find the time, I may put the new diff in. But as it is, it just comes with the car.
Science Abuse
I've just been offered an S70 Turbo AWD for it. I'm liking that, but I'd rather have cash or another benz. Speak up!
