Guest Ponyfreak
I have a set of 4.6 DOHC heads that I need to replace the guides in. I have seen this done before and it looked really easy. I have an air hammer, and a 7mm installation tool. What else do I need to perform this job? Besides guides..

NWill
Are you replacing the entire valve guide or just doing inserts?
Guest Removed
a large oven, too warm the heads up before removal & install. if you havent done it, dont try it. IMO, let a machine shop do it.
Guest Ponyfreak
Reccomended 4.6 4V process is to heat the head to 300 degrees tap the old guides out. Freeze new guides in liquid nitrogen and simply slip them right in. Use hone to bore out approximatly +.0012-.0018. factory high spec is +.0028
