wnaplay1647545503
I am trying to get the driveaxle off the front of my eclipse(out of the hub) but no luck I so far have heated it and soaked it 4 times over a few hour period with pb blaster. And still after about a thousand whacks with my mallet it still wont budge. Do they make a tool I can get to push it out of the hub?
Dave1647545494
air hammer with a punch works good right in the center of the axle
wnaplay1647545503
You dont think it would damage the axle? I should have mentioned I am trying to change the hub and bearing assembly.
Jelloman4571647545499
thread the nut on the end of the shaft. But make sure there is a little more nut then shaft. Then have the knuckle disconnected and hit the nut with a min sledge. I have switched axels like this all the time and they always go back together fine. Make sure after every two or three hits you can still run the nut on and off.
