Degreeing Cams?

Well, I wished I would've done this before I actually dropped the motor in my car because now it'll be a PITA, but recently I've been kicking myself in the ass for not being so precise about my cam timing. The car runs like a raped ape as it sits by just setting my aftermarket cams in my motor in pretty much standard timing, but the cam card suggests I run 100in and 98ex degrees which I'm doubtful they're at right now.

My question; anyone here have any PERSONAL experience in degreeing cams? I haven't taken the time to do it myself, but since I haven't gotten hands on experience there's some stuff that confuses me and I wouldn't mind someone's help if at all possible.

I don't want to take my car to a shop to have it done because I hate relying on other people to do stuff I should really just teach myself.
