clayton006
Hello everyone, I've recently purchase a 2002 Ford Focus ZTS with a 5-speed manual. Everything is working ok, but I did notice that it's harder to shift into 1 and 2 than 3rd, 4th, and 5th. It kinda hitches a little bit sometimes. It doesn't do this when I'm stoppped and I have the clutch in (it goes back and forth real easy) But when I move a little and try it again I can feel it being noticeably more difficult to shift into. It's not grinding or clanking, I can just feel it through the stick. Like I said above sometimes it will hitch a little bit when putting it in 1 or 2, but not all the time. Could this be a shifting fork or syncros, or am I looking at possibly an easier fix than this. Do you think this is something that will probably get worse until I can't shift into those gears? Any advice appreciated. Thanks.
Guest Removed
could be a clutch issue. hyd, etc.(worn clutchs will do this) or sycros...etc.

clayton006
Is there anyone around the area that could take a look at this for me? I'm trying to do this soon so it's covered under the dealership warranty.
OSUGT
Is there a reason why the dealership can't look and fix it?
clayton006
I guess they could (cause they will have to fix it anyway) but I'm trying to see how serious it is before I drive to Marion. If it's the clutch then they won't cover it (not under the agreement) and I've wasted the trip, gas, and incoviencing a friend to help ride up with me.
