Bam
Why is that not a street car? A drivers seat ONLY? And a race harness, pretty sure that's not legal. No passenger seat/belt? Again, not really streetable for a date/daily. No side impact beams in the doors? Yeah that's illegal No windshield wipers/motor? Yup, Illegal again. Slicks, again, NOT Street legal. This car WOULD not pass any inspection, therefore its technically ILLEGAL to be street driven, which would take it out of the STREET CAR category. Again, not really streetable for a date/daily. legal No side impact beams in the doors? Yeah that's illegal only if someone looks for them No windshield wipers/motor? Yup, Illegal again. legal Slicks, again, NOT Street legal. DOT slicks = legal This car WOULD not pass any inspection, therefore its technically ILLEGAL to be street driven, which would take it out of the STREET CAR category. Ohio doesnt do inspections, therfor, unless someone was really looking, its totaly legal for street use. fixed

BIGGU
racing harnesses are street legal as long as they are FIA approved.

CobraKevin
fixed Regardless of whether it's LEGAL to be driven on the street or not, I would hardly consider it a street car. Nobody in their right mind would drive a completely stripped, single-seat car on bald tires to the movies or to grab a bite to eat. With bald tires and no windshield wipers, forget driving it in anything but 100% dry conditions, and even then he still probably trailers that car to the track. My '03 Cobra would've ran mid-11's with that rear-end setup on those tires and it was daily driven. My car was a street car, his is not. -Kevin

Talked to a good friend of mine who's on the board, and a cop. Driver's seat and harness is legal. So is just having just a driver's seat. Obviously you can't have someone sitting on the floor, but that's obvious. Removing side impact beams, also not illegal. Wipers and motor, yeah, that's not legal. I'll give you that one. So put 0.02 back onto that 11.01. Slicks. Take 15 minutes and put your other tires back on. Who on this site hasn't done this to their "street car"? Most people I know define a street car as one that can be driven to the track and raced, not trailered. And/Or driven in stop and go traffic without issue. Inspections have nothing to do with it. Especially in Ohio, where there are no inspections. Swapping tires out really doesn't count. Never has. Takes almost no time to do that. And it's as easy to drive as my Cobra. Sounds pretty close to a "street car" to me...
