Dr. Apex
http://www.teamjamoto.com/dixeregionpage.htm#v8301600 I guess this happened this past weekend. Word is the wheels were brand new and possibly the lug nuts were the wrong thread pitch....but who knows. Sad to see it happen to a nice car as it obviously did some serious damage. SPLN SUX
first time ive ever seen that happen... guess he didnt quite get the joke about using a torque wrench to tighen his lugs in between runs... they would have snapped in the pit rather than on the course. $50 wrench > what happend. HAOLE
What are the odds that all 4 would come off at the same time?

Guest GMoney
I would have to think that someone either way over tightened them or an evil act from another human cause it appears they broke right at the lug.

HAOLE
Is it possible someone put rims on the car that did not have the right lug spacing?
SamZman
I hate to laugh at other people's misfortune but that looked hilarious when it happened.. that looks like a mess to get back up/towed off or whatever. :/
NOPR
supposedly the shop gave him standard lugnuts, not metric. so they fit and he DID torque them down with a torque wrench, there were witnesses to this. however, they didnt stay on because they were the wrong size. He was a veteran autocrosser and not an idiot. This is all what ive heard, i dont see how you could get any lugnut torqued down without realizing it was wrong. i guess it was just a really close standard size? i dunno. it really sucks though.
