Yeah this was already posted once. Why would it be so tough to bring it back. Because it was underground in a vault. Whats the difference from a 1962 Pontiac Convertible that was found in hilliard with a tree growing though it. Theres a target there now. Interesting story non the less.

There are a ton of pics online now, and from the looks of things, the vault flooded with mud as high as the beltline. There were some shots that look like there isn't much more than a few spots of surface rust, mostly the mud LOOKS like rust. Interior is certainly trashed, but all the fabrics are available through restoration companies. The drivetrain isn't really a problem to fix, it's not like the motor was running when it filled up.

 

That said, cleaning it out prior to starting work would be a stone bitch.

when they buried it they sold raffle tickets and the winner got the car. has anyone heard who got it?

I dunno, but could you claim negligence since the supposedly nuclear-proof vault couldn't even hold back some waterlogged dirt?
