mitcholi6792
Ive been thinking about aking an old 350 that i have and turning it into a 383 stroker. but i don't know how much the machining might cost does anyone have an idea?
DaddyBuiltRacing
383= 350 block+400 crank!! Not a whole lot of machining needed.
Scotty2Hotty
Little bit of boring, that's about it. Depends on what condition the block is. Also if you yourself are going to put this in, or have someone do it. In that case you're looking at upwards of $1,500.
nurkvinny
It is more than an overbore. Google is your friend. You'll have a few hundred in machine work alone. Moving to Tech
Clifford Automotive
Vince is correct. You other two are both wrong. To build a 383 you need to machine the block at .030 over, deck the block, and notch the bottom end of the block. Its not just a 400 crank in a 350. Do it and you have all kind of problems. In the my past experience if you want it done it will cost you around $500 at Fowlers Machine Shop. My recommendation would be to go buy an Eagle Rotating Assembly. Where are you at in Baltimore?
