CJINOHIO03
Well I replaced the cam sensor and car still runs like shit misfires. I didt have a volt meter. What else can it be? Wiring? verse
If the Crank sensor was bad the car wouldn't start. Bad plugs/wires can throw a camshaft position code. Usually wires.

No milkshake in the oil or froth on the oil fill cap underside? Checked plugs , bad injector?
CJINOHIO03
the engine only has about 40000 miles. The intake gaskets were replaced previously. The oil is fine. CJ
AJ
pull the wires off the coil and look for a rusted tower. intake won't make a 3100 run bad. fuel injectors were common on those too.
Clifford Automotive
intake won't make a 3100 run bad. yeah it will
Guest 614Streets
intake won't make a 3100 run bad. Ive had to do plenty of 3100's where they did run horrible because of bad intake gaskets , not only that but if the oil milkshakes from circulating with dexcool the hydralic roller lifters can colapse , I know Ive seen it first hand. If you change out gaskets on a 3100 -3400 you should always clean/check the lifters , the engine will run like shit wit a collapsed lifter. Buck531
What cylnders is it misfiring on? Leaky injector? Bad ICM? Any codes?
verse
Check resistence of your spark plug wires. If you are getting a cam sensor code this is the most likely cause.
RUTAN TA1647545492
Did you check your injectors? will cause a misfire and its a common problem on 3100/3400 GM's
CJINOHIO03
Ok went and had codes checked now it says cylinder 3 misfire and pending misfire. So what is my next step? plug or plug wire ? coil? inition module? The engine only has about 45k on it... CJ
Buck531
leaky fuel injector? plug/plug wire. Pull the plug and see if it's drenched in fuel. At least it's a front cylinder and not the rear PITA one . Swap the injector with another one and see if the misfire moves to another cylinder. verse
So those are the only codes now? No Cam Position Sensor code? Could be a bad wire, plug, or fuel injector. You could measure the resistance in the wire, should be less than at least 10 ohms. You could try to swap #3 spark plug with a known good cylinder to see if it switches cylinders, you could try to listen to the injectors with a stethoscope to see if it's operating correctly. AJ
did you pull the #3 plug wire off at the coil to see if it has rust on it?
RUTAN TA1647545492
Take a 6"-8" 3/8 extension and tap on #3 fuel injector while its running. BTW- be sure its #3 injector you tap on,its a common mistake to get those injectors confused.

This is what I would do. And you can pick up a mechanic stethoscope cheap at habor frieght.
