do the undercoat stuff, idk what its called but its designed to keep rust off of your under carriage, forget the paint idea, this stuff would work a lot better, you can pick it up at advanced auto for cheap

Are you guys suggesting rubberized undercoating?

yep! In dad's radiator shop, after we repaired a gas tank, we always hit it with our special radiator paint! use some primer sealer on it, then under coat it and it should be good to go!

Looking for something I can buy locally since I am impatient. I sealed the inside last night. The outside is rusty. I was going to sandblast it but. 1 our sandblaster at work sucks, and 2. I'm not sure it would stand up to being blasted. I know they make paint that you can paint directly over rust so I will spray that on first and then undercoat. I thought about calling ziebart and asking them how much it would be to rhinoline the tank the next day thier doing a truck bed and already have the stuff out.
